SRK death threat: Accused studied actor's security, targeted son Aryan
The lawyer arrested for threatening Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan with death had allegedly done a lot of online research on the actor and his son Aryan Khan's security arrangements and movements. The accused, Faizan Khan, a Raipur-based lawyer, was arrested in connection with the extortion and death threat case against SRK. This was revealed after a forensic analysis of Faizan's second mobile phone, recovered by the Bandra Police investigation team.
Faizan's threat call and subsequent arrest
On November 7, Faizan called the Bandra Police Station landline threateningly, "Is not Shah Rukh Khan the same who lives in Mannat (bungalow)...a Bandstand-wala...If he doesn't pay up ₹50 lakh, I will kill him." When the on-duty officer asked for his identity, he said, "It doesn't matter, my name is Hindustani," before hanging up. The police registered a case against an unknown person.
Faizan's arrest and judicial custody
After the threat call, the police traced the number to Raipur, deployed tech intel, sought help from local police, and succeeded in locating Faizan. He was arrested on November 12 by a Mumbai Police team and brought to Mumbai for further investigation. The accused was produced before a court which remanded him to police custody till November 18. He was then sent to judicial custody for another 14 days.
Faizan's evasive responses about motives
Despite being in custody, Faizan has reportedly been giving evasive and misleading answers about why he was collecting information on the security arrangements of SRK and Aryan. Both father and son are given Y-Plus level protection considering their high-profile status. The motive behind Faizan's actions remains unclear as he continues to evade direct questions about his intentions.
