SRK will play a don, but not in 'Don 3'
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is all set to play a don again. Those expecting to see his return in the Farhan Akhtar-helmed franchise will be disappointed though. SRK will take on a don's role in the forthcoming action thriller, King. This marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time Khan shares the silver screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan. The title is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Gauri Khan in collaboration with Siddharth Anand.
Khan's character in 'King' to have a shade of gray
Khan's character in King is expected to be neither entirely black nor white, but rather a shade of gray. An insider told Pinkvilla, "Shah Rukh Khan is making films for the audience and is well aware about their urge to see him in shades of grey." The character promises to be full of swagger and attitude, reflecting Khan's meticulous work on the project with Anand and Ghosh.
'King Khan' will sport a new look in 'King'
In King, Khan will be seen sporting a new look, featuring long hair and a light beard. This look will be unveiled when the film starts shooting later in September. "While the character designing is already done, Anand is presently working on the action blocks with international stunt teams. Ghosh, on the other hand, is getting the dialogue draft ready, whereas SRK is overseeing the creative process and training with Suhana on some new-age action sequences," the source added.
SRK was originally supposed to have cameo appearance
Originally pegged as a mighty theatrical launch vehicle for Suhana, who debuted as an actor in Netflix's The Archies last year, King has undergone several conceptual changes. While Suhana was supposed to shoulder the movie, her superstar father was to play a supporting cameo role previously. However, a recent report suggested the makers rewrote the script and now the father-daughter duo will have parallel lead roles.
Plot: Suhana plays the disciple of Khan's character
The plot of King revolves around the relationship between a mentor and his disciple, navigating through various challenges. Suhana, making her big-screen debut, will play the disciple of Khan's character, who will be apparently depicted as "The King of The World... Underworld." This film follows Khan's successful 2023 ventures - Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki.
