Shabana Azmi dubs Oscars red carpet culture as 'huge pity'
Shabana Azmi is visibly offended by the Oscars for endorsing unrealistic standards of beauty. The veteran actress took to Twitter to denounce the red carpet culture of the prestigious award ceremony. She has always been vocal about her displeasure over the beauty and fashion standards set by international film festivals and award functions.

Azmi, who is also a social activist, had once said, "What bothers me about red carpet particularly Cannes is that it's an extremely important festival where stunning films are shown and nothing of that ever comes in papers. It's always celebrities standing with one hand on waist." Last seen in Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Neerja', Azmi is currently busy with her play 'Kaifi Aur Main'.
