Shabana Azmi down with swine flu, gets hospitalized
National-award winning actress Shabana Azmi has been diagnosed with swine flu recently. The 68-year old actress, who defies age in every sense, got to know about the disease during a regular health check-up. Soon after, she was rushed to the hospital and was put on the treatment. Confirming the diagnosis, the veteran actress stated that she is recovering fast from the disease. Here's more.
Shabana put to complete bed rest, recovering from disease
According to media reports, Shabana was diagnosed with swine flu after she complained of severe cough and cold. The actress has been advised complete bed rest by the doctors and is currently recuperating in the hospital. Talking about it, Shabana said she would make the best use of this spare time for self-introspection.
This is an enforced break for me: Shabana
Interestingly, Shabana is dealing with the disease positively and said that it has given her the much-needed break from her otherwise hectic schedule. "Rarely, do I get a chance to lie back and introspect. This is an enforced break for me, I have not been in contact with any swine whatsoever. But I am in the hospital recovering fast," the veteran actress told IANS.
What is swine flu?
A respiratory infection caused due to an influenza strain that started out in pigs, swine flu's symptoms include fever, body ache, loss of appetite, fatigue, cough, sore throat, and nausea, etc. Some home remedies include intake of tulsi, garlic, and turmeric, to build immunity.
Shabana's last release was 'The Black Prince' in 2017
Notably, Shabana has been one of the highly acclaimed actresses in Bollywood. She has been a powerhouse performer who has given super hit movies like Avtaar, Arth, Masoom, Parvarish, Apne Paraye, etc. Shabana was also hailed for her performance in 2016 release Neerja wherein she played the role of Neerja's mother Rama Bhanot. She was last seen in 2017 release The Black Prince.
