Gomez's health issues pose risks to pregnancy
Gomez, who was diagnosed with lupus(a chronic autoimmune disease) in 2013 and underwent a kidney transplant in 2017, stated that her medical conditions would put both her life and the baby's at risk if she were to become pregnant. "I unfortunately...have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby's in jeopardy," she said. This is the first time Gomez has publicly addressed this issue.
Gomez considers surrogacy and adoption
Despite her health challenges, Gomez remains hopeful about becoming a mother. She expressed gratitude for the options of surrogacy and adoption, both of which she is willing to consider. "I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me," she said. She added that she has "grieved" not having children the traditional way.
Gomez and boyfriend Blanco discussed future family
Gomez has been in a relationship with record producer Blanco (36) since July 2023. In a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Blanco expressed his desire to have children with Gomez.
