The series, a continuation of the beloved Wizards of Waverly Place, features David Henrie reprising his iconic role as Justin Russo. To add to the excitement, Selena Gomez makes a cameo appearance as Alex Russo, leaving fans ecstatic. The plot, cast, and more details about this magical series are sure to captivate audiences.
Gomez and Henrie's roles in the sequel series
In the upcoming series, Gomez will serve as an executive producer and make a guest appearance in the pilot episode. On the other hand, Henrie will return as a regular cast member. The sequel will also feature new faces including Janice LeAnn Brown from Just Roll With It as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada.
'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' plot
The sequel series will follow an adult Justin Russo who has given up his wizard powers to lead a normal life. However, a mysterious incident at WizTech forces him to return to his wizarding roots. The official synopsis reads: "When Justin's sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities—and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World."
Other returning cast members and new additions
In addition to Gomez and Henrie, David DeLuise and Maria Canals-Barrera will also return as Jerry and Theresa Russo. Jake T Austin, who played Max Russo, and Jennifer Stone, who portrayed Harper Finkle, are expected to make their comeback. In the sequel, Justin lives a normal life with his mortal family including his wife Giada (Gianopulos) and kids Roman (Thiele) and Milo (Max Matenko). The show is set to premiere on October 29 and will be available on Disney+.
