'Scoop' star Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, 'Maidaan' win at Septimius Awards
The 2024 edition of the Septimius Awards, held in the Netherlands, saw Indian actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and the film Maidaan among its winners. Ayyub's performance in 'Scoop' earned him accolades
In Scoop, Ayyub played the character of Imran Siddiqui, a principled newspaper editor. His performance in the series was highly praised by viewers. The series was directed by Hansal Mehta, who congratulated Ayyub on his win at the Septimius Awards, which are known for supporting new talent and visionary ideas. 'Maidaan' shone as best Asian film
Maidaan, a sports drama based on the golden era of Indian football, was named the best Asian film at the Septimius Awards. The film tells the true story of Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 until his death in 1963. Helmed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan was released in theaters in April. It is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
'Maidaan' producer expressed delight over the win
Boney Kapoor, the producer of Maidaan, expressed his delight and honor at the film's recognition at the prestigious awards. "Congratulations to our hardworking and dedicated cast and crew that accomplished to create the magnificence of Maidaan," he wrote on X/Twitter. The film also features Priya Mani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh in key roles, with music composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman.
