Mahesh Babu's 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata': What we know so far
Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, whose last big-screen release was 2020's emotional action drama Sarileru Neekavvaru, will be next seen in Sarkaru Vaari Paata (SVP) after more than two years. Co-starring National Film Award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh, SVP has been directed by Parasuram Petla. Before its grand release in May, here is everything you need to know about the much-awaited film. Take a look!
What is the film all about?
Reportedly, Babu will be seen as a pawnbroker and banker in SVP. The film is touted to deliver a powerful message against fraudulent activities within the banking sector. Also, given the fact that Parasuram is at the helm, it is safe to say that the film will also have certain elements to woo the family audience. Its trailer is expected to be dropped soon.
The film's release has been postponed twice
SVP's release has been postponed twice to date—owing to the pandemic and to avert clashes with other biggies. Originally, it was scheduled to release in January 2022 but was later pushed to April. But with RRR and Acharya releasing in March and April, respectively, makers had to change its premiere date again. As per the latest announcement, SVP will hit theaters on May 12.
Babu's daughter Sitara's first-ever music video appearance
On Saturday, the makers released a glimpse from the upcoming film's second single, Penny, in which Babu's daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni is seen shaking a leg. Notably, this marks her debut appearance in a music video. The full song will be out on Sunday. Last month, makers dropped SVP's first single, titled Kalaavathi, featuring the lead actors. S Thaman has composed music for the film.
Other details: Budget, overseas theatrical rights
According to media reports, the film's pre-release business had been solid as its overseas theatrical rights were sold for a whopping Rs. 15 crore last November. However, there is no information on which distribution company bagged the rights. Made on a budget of Rs. 60 crore, SVP is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers in association with G Mahesh Babu Entertainment and 14 Reels Plus.
