Sara, mother Amrita Singh twinning in ethnic ensembles
Ace designer pair Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, who are celebrating their 33rd work anniversary, shared somewhat of a throwback photo of Kedarnath actress Sara Ali Khan and her mother Amrita Singh. Though the mother-daughter duo is not their old selves, the ensembles that they are wearing in the photo were probably created by the designers in 2006, hence the caption, "2006: Treasure made of threads!"
"Amrita Singh, Sara appear ravishing in 'Rabadi' for India Fantastique"
"Amrita Singh and Sara Ali Khan appear ravishing in 'Rabadi' for Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla's India Fantastique (a book by the designers). Their ensembles feature a beautiful blend of geometric and abstract khakas in multi-coloured appliques," read the Instagram post by the designer duo. The post also highlighted that Sara's outfit is special as it has "mosaic embroidery and pure Resham Aari chain stitches."

Sara has donned creations of this designer duo many times
Jani-Khosla are probably Sara's favorite fashion designers, as she's often spotted wearing their creations. She wore a glittering white lehenga during this year's Filmfare Awards, where she had also won in the Best Female Debut category. During Kedarnath promotions, she wore an experimental lehenga designed by them. Last year in Diwali, one of Sara's outfits by Jani-Khosla was all about: "Lights, camera, sparkles."
Jani, Khosla are also the official couturiers of the Bachchans
Jani-Khosla also have a special connection with the Bachchans, as they started their professional life by dressing up Shweta Bachchan at her wedding. Today, they are the Bachchans' official couturiers. Their book, India Fantastique, which was launched in 2012 in London, had Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan as a chief guest, along with Skyfall actress Dame Judi Dench. It was to celebrate their 25-year-long journey.
Shweta, Jaya Bachchan were dressed in white chikan ensemble
Last week, to celebrate their three-decade-long work anniversary, the designers had shared a photo of Shweta, which was clicked in December 1997, just four days before she gave birth to her firstborn, daughter Navya Naveli. The photo had Shweta in a delicate, white chikan ensemble, and her mother, Jaya Bachchan, who had her head on the daughter's lap, wore an embroidered saree.
"First person to walk through the door was Dimple Kapadia"
Talking about their incredible partnership, Khosla had said that he had met Jani on August 15 in 1986. While Khosla ran a boutique called Limelight, Jani worked "as a ghost designer for a lot of bored housewives." Eventually they launched their brand, Matahari, and "the first person to walk through the door was Dimple Kapadia," they said. The rest, as they say, is history.
Sara has 'Aaj Kal' for release, 'Coolie No. 1' shooting
Coming back to Sara, she was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Simmba. For now, she is gearing up for the release of Aaj Kal, a sequel to her father Saif Ali Khan's 2009 release, Love Aaj Kal. Her rumored boyfriend Kartik Aaryan is her co-star in this. She has also recently started shooting for the remake of Coolie No 1, opposite Varun Dhawan.
