Confirmed! Sara to romance Varun in 'Coolie No. 1' remake
Sara Ali Khan's career is certainly on a roll after the massive success of her debut Kedarnath and her second release Simmba in 2018. Just a day after she announced that she's shooting for her third film, Imtiaz Ali's directorial opposite Kartik Aaryan, news about Sara being roped in for Coolie No.1's remake have surfaced. In this, the 23-year-old will be romancing Varun Dhawan.
Farhad Samji, writer of the movie, confirms Sara's inclusion
The news was confirmed by writer Farhad Samji, who is looking forward to working with Varun and Sara in Coolie No.1. "It's a boon for any writer to work with an actor like Varun. I narrated the dialogue draft to him recently and he immediately asked me for a copy. I'm looking forward to teaming up with Sara for the second time," he added.
It's neither a remake nor sequel of 'Coolie No.1': Farhad
Furthermore, Farhad revealed that the new movie will neither be a remake nor a sequel to the original movie. Instead, it will be an adaptation with a new format. "We have written it keeping the sensibilities of today's audience in mind. It will have plenty of humor and color, larger-than-life songs and will be mounted on a lavish scale," Farhad mentioned.

Notably, Coolie No.1, directed by David Dhawan, was a 1995 release starring Kader Khan, Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. For months, there were reports about the remake with Varun in the lead. And recently, Varun himself confirmed the news. He said, "As I said it, I was like "should I say it?" But I think it's come (in) out so many places that yeah."
For now, Varun is gearing up for 'Kalank' release
Meanwhile, Varun is gearing up for the release of Kalank opposite Alia Bhatt on April 17. The actor is said to be having a busy 2019 as after Kalank, he will be seen in Remo D'Souza's Street Dancer opposite Shraddha Kapoor. This isn't all. Varun will also be seen doing a cameo in Salman Khan's much-awaited Bharat, which will be releasing on Eid 2019.
