Apology details
'I felt so disgusted that I instantly went to Sanya...'
Singh told the portal, "All I remember was how I ate a lot of food; otherwise, I didn't remember much. Since that film, I have shot with almost four other projects, so I had forgotten all about the character. When I saw the film, I felt disgusted that I instantly went to Sanya and apologized."
"She was taken aback and asked me why...I told her...I had forgotten how much I troubled her in the film and hence felt bad."
Character impact
Singh's character in 'Mrs.' sparked widespread discussion
Singh's character in Mrs. has sparked a raging debate among viewers, especially women who lauded the film as a raw portrayal of their everyday lives.
Addressing this response, Singh said, "Honestly, people sometimes get deeply involved with films and characters."
"They have forgotten that this man has also been part of Family No 1—he is not like that in real life... People must understand they are not supposed to be like this character."
Acting strategy
Singh's approach to playing controversial characters
Singh also spoke about his approach to playing such controversial characters without being judgmental.
He said, "You know what he's doing is wrong, but you have to play it convincingly."
"These fatherly figures keep saying beta ji in the northern side. Even though they speak lovingly, they don't mean it... I had to play it in an undertone to avoid making him look like a typical villain."
