Is 'health' reason behind Sanjay Dutt's exit from 'Welcome 3'
The news of Sanjay Dutt not being a part of Akshay Kumar's Welcome to the Jungle has spread rapidly. Contrary to the previous reports suggesting that Dutt bowed out of the film due to scheduling conflicts, a new report indicates that he has stepped down due to health issues. A source close to the project also told Pinkvilla that Dutt had only filmed for one day, contrary to claims of a 15-day shoot.
Dutt's role in 'Welcome to the Jungle' revealed
Dutt's character in the comedy-adventure film was reportedly set to involve a "lot of action sequences." This detail was disclosed by the insider, who also clarified that the 64-year-old actor's health concerns prompted his decision to leave the forthcoming project. Meanwhile, previously, a Bollywood Hungama report suggested that Dutt felt the shooting schedule was not organized and frequent script alterations were disrupting his shooting diary. As of now, no official statement has been made.
Revisit Kumar's warm welcome to Dutt in the film
In December 2023, Kumar enthusiastically welcomed Dutt to the movie with a social media post. The post included a video from the sets showing Kumar on a horse and Dutt following him on a motorcycle. The caption read, "What a lovely coincidence that we celebrate 16 years of Welcome today while I am shooting for the franchise's third part. And it's wonderful to welcome Sanju Baba in this one. What do you think?, (sic)."

Welcome to the Jungle features an impressive cast including Kumar, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, and Lara Dutta, among others. Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Firoz A. Nadiadwala, the film is part of the popular Welcome franchise. It is scheduled for release during the Christmas holiday season on December 20.
