Who left ₹72cr property to Sanjay Dutt
What's the story
In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was made the beneficiary of a ₹72 crore property by a die-hard fan, Nisha Patil.
The 62-year-old Mumbai housewife had willed her entire estate to Dutt before losing her battle to a terminal illness in 2018.
Even though she never met the actor, she had directed her bank through several letters to transfer all her assets to him posthumously.
Information relay
Dutt was informed about the will by police
The police relayed the news of Patil's will to Dutt, leaving him astonished.
Despite this grand gesture from his fan, the actor clarified he had no intentions of claiming the property.
He reportedly expressed his deep sense of being overwhelmed by the situation and said, "I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nisha and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it."
Legal stance
Dutt's lawyer confirmed his decision to not claim property
Dutt's lawyer also confirmed the actor's decision and said he would not claim the ₹72cr property. The actor is willing to go through any legal proceedings to transfer the assets back to Patil's family.
On the work front, Dutt is gearing up for his next big project, Baaghi 4, with Tiger Shroff. The action film is tentatively slated for September 5 release.
He will also star in the pan-India film KD- The Devil opposite Dhruva Sarja and Shilpa Shetty Kundra.
