'Sanam Teri Kasam' re-release: Relive Inder, Saru's heartbreaking romance
What's the story
The 2016 romantic film Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, will be returning to theaters on Friday (February 7).
In a recent interview with Zoom, co-star Manish Chaudhari said he was excited about the re-release.
He said despite its initial underperformance at the box office, the film has become quite popular over time through OTT platforms owing to its "old-school love story" and intense drama.
Role complexity
Chaudhari's role in 'Sanam Teri Kasam' was his most challenging
Chaudhari, who played a South Indian character in the film, called his role the most difficult of his career.
He detailed how the emotional intensity of his character often trumped logic, saying, "What he does just goes beyond logic, and funnily enough that is actually what has really resonated with the audience."
"When emotion comes into the forefront then there is no logic...If there is great emotion then logic takes a back seat."
Audience engagement
'Sanam Teri Kasam' is a testament to effective audience engagement
Chaudhari ended by lauding Sanam Teri Kasam as the perfect example of engaging the audience.
The story revolves around a misunderstood girl, Saru, and a heartbroken man, Inder, crossing paths, leading to an unexpected love story filled with pain, sacrifice, and fate's cruel twists. Their journey unfolds through tragedy and redemption, leaving an everlasting impact.
The film also stars Anurag Sinha, Vijay Raaz, Murali Sharma, and Sudesh Berry in pivotal roles.
