'Sanam Teri Kasam' becomes second highest-grossing re-release; trails only 'Tumbbad'
What's the story
The romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release has been an unprecedented success at the box office.
Despite earning only ₹9cr in 2016, the film's re-release on February 7, 2025, has already collected a whopping ₹24.25cr in just six days.
This makes it the second highest-grossing re-release of all time, surpassing Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli and Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Only Tumbbad (₹32cr) remains ahead.

'Sanam Teri Kasam' outperformed new releases
Amid new releases like Loveyapa and Badass Ravi Kumar, Sanam Teri Kasam exceeded its original domestic earnings within just two days.
The film achieved the highest-grossing weekend for a re-released Bollywood movie, with an opening weekend collection of around ₹15.5cr net.
This is more than the total earnings of Badass Ravi Kumar (₹6.75cr) and Loveyapa (₹5.15cr) combined.

Sanam Teri Kasam's lead actor Harshvardhan Rane was delighted with the film's re-release performance.
Speaking to Free Press Journal, he said, "It is a very soothing feeling. This makes you believe what Shah Rukh Khan sir said (in Om Shanti Om), 'Agar sab thik na ho toh woh the end nahi hai, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.' I could resonate with that dialogue after nine years of trying, failing, and still trying again."
