Celebrating her 37th birthday on Sunday, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced her upcoming project, Bangaram, sparking excitement among fans. The first look of the film was shared by the actor on Instagram, where she is seen in a bold avatar, brandishing a gun and smeared with blood. She captioned the post, "Not everything has to glitter to be golden. #Bangaram @tralalamovingpictures...Starting soon (sic)."
Shooting is set to commence shortly: Prabhu
While sharing the poster, Prabhu also mentioned that the shooting of the forthcoming film is set to commence shortly. Apart from a fierce Prabhu, the poster does not disclose any other information crew, cast, or plot details of the project. To recall, Prabhu made her theatrical debut in 2010 with a minor role in Gautham Vasudev Menon's Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Prabhu is also preparing for the release of 'Citadel'
In addition to Bangaram, the actor is also gearing up for the release of another project, the highly-anticipated Citadel: Honey Bunny. This series, directed by Raj and DK, features Varun Dhawan as her co-star. It's a spy thriller adapted from Priyanka Chopra Jonas's Citadel and is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video, later this year. The narrative is expected to fuse elements of a hard-hitting spy thriller with a touching love story—all set against the setting of the 1990s.

Dhawan and Prabhu aside, Honey Bunny features Kay Kay Menon, Kollywood actor Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, and Kashvi Majmundar. Despite early conjectures that the series might be a remake of its American counterpart starring Jonas and Richard Madden, Prabhu earlier clarified on Instagram that "it's actually a spin-off with distinct versions planned in Spanish, Italian, and Mexican."

Aside from her remarkable talents as an actor, Prabhu is also a vocal advocate for mental health. Since revealing her struggle with the auto-immune disease Myositis, she has passionately emphasized the importance of both physical and mental well-being. Recently, during her podcast, she candidly discussed the challenges, sharing "I have a fan base that is probably more interested in entertainment, fashion, and make-up. So, making that transition into health and advocating mental health is not really an easy one."
