Salman Khan films last-minute post-credits song for 'Sikandar'
What's the story
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who just returned from shooting for an international project in Saudi Arabia, is back on the sets for his next film Sikandar.
Although the AR Murugadoss film is nearing completion, the makers decided to add a post-credits song at the last minute.
The shooting of this peppy number is currently on at Royal Gold Studios in Film City, Goregaon, reported Mid-Day.
Production update
'Sikandar' team hopes to wrap up filming by next week
A source close to the production shared with the portal, "The song was a last-minute addition, but Salman and producer Sajid Nadiadwala felt it would be a great way to catch the audience's attention. It is being shot on a lavish scale and will be an integral part of the promotional blitzkrieg."
If all goes according to plan, the team hopes to wrap up filming this track next week.
Wrap-up date
'Sikandar' to conclude filming by March 8
The final wrap on Sikandar, which stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, will be done on March 8. This is a slight delay from the initial plan, owing to the last-minute song addition.
The team had planned to shoot for two days in Rajkot but those portions have already been filmed in Mumbai.
An insider from the film's crew said songs have typically played a significant role in Khan's films and this track is expected to be no different.
Release date
'Sikandar' set for March 28 release
The action-packed film Sikandar is scheduled to release around March 28 as an Eid offering.
This is in line with Khan's tradition of releasing his films during festive seasons, especially Eid.
With its high-energy number and star-studded cast, Sikandar is expected to be another blockbuster in Khan's illustrious career.
Khan and Mandanna aside, Sikandar also stars Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar.
