Overseas advance booking open for Salman Khan's 'Sikandar'
What's the story
Salman Khan's much-awaited film, Sikandar, is already creating a lot of buzz in international markets with its advance booking open, even before the trailer release.
The film, which stars Rashmika Mandanna and has music by Pritam, will be released on March 30, with premiere shows on March 29.
However, domestic advance booking in India is yet to start.
Promotional strategy
'Sikandar' team plans grand-scale event for trailer launch
In international markets, advance booking is opened before the trailer release. Sources now suggest the Sikandar team is planning a grand-scale event to launch the trailer.
This goes perfectly with Khan's larger-than-life image and the trend of Bollywood films creating event-like hype around their promotional materials.
The film also stars Sathyaraj, Kajal Agarwal, and Sharman Joshi and is backed by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss.
Chart-toppers
'Bum Bum Bhole,' 'Zohra Jabeen,' 'Sikandar Naache' are trending
The songs Bum Bum Bhole and Zohra Jabeen from Sikandar have been trending on the charts since their release. Recently, title track Sikandar Naache was dropped.
This is Khan's return to Eid releases after a year.
Although the film will be released unconventionally on a Sunday (March 30), the last time Khan released a film on Sunday was Tiger 3, which was on Diwali, and the results were not up to the mark.
However, special screenings received a positive response.
