'Bhai isn't bothered': Salman Khan maintains calm amid firing scare
In a disturbing event on Sunday, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle discharged their firearms outside Galaxy Apartments in Bandra in Mumbai—the residence of Bollywood icon Salman Khan. The disconcerting incident unfolded around 5:00am, before the assailants swiftly vanished into the shadows. Reflecting on the severity of the situation, a close friend of Khan shared with Times Now that the actor remains unfazed about his safety but is deeply concerned for his family.
Why does this story matter?
This isn't the first time Khan has faced threats to his life, having previously received numerous menacing phone calls and emails. The recent gunfire incident has brought these threats into stark reality. Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed Khan's prominent placement on a target list meticulously curated by incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Notably, Bishnoi's ire stems from the infamous 1998 incident involving Khan's alleged hunting of a blackbuck, an act deemed disrespectful to his community.
'Bhai is not bothered about his own life...'
Regarding the incident, a close friend of the family talked to the aforementioned portal. They asserted, "Bhai is not bothered about his own life. But he is very scared of harm coming to his family members." The unnamed friend further mentioned that Salim Khan, Salman's father and legendary writer, had suggested relocating from their family home in the upscale Bandra to a more secure location due to the persistent threats.
Khan's father suffering from sleepless nights: Report
Further, the close confidant revealed, "The best part of the family's hum-sath-sath-hain rule is that no one shows his or her true apprehensions. So outwardly Salim Saab is keeping very calm and cool." The source continued, "However, the entire family knows Salim Saab is getting sleepless nights over the threat." Khan himself adopts a fatalistic attitude toward the situation, believing, "Jo jab hona hoga tab hoga," indicating his resignation to whatever fate may unfold.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage of suspected shooters surfaces online
Following the alarming incident, CCTV footage from the scene surfaced online, revealing the suspected shooters riding a motorcycle at a brisk pace in the wee hours of Sunday. Hours after the news broke, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) appealed to PM Narendra Modi for heightened security measures to safeguard Khan. Meanwhile, reacting to the unsettling event, veteran actor Pooja Bhatt expressed her dismay, labeling the incident as "horrific and condemnable."
