Salman Khan slaps security guard at 'Bharat' screening. Why, though?
Right after the release of his latest film Bharat, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has embroiled himself in another controversy. In an instance of questionable behavior (though not his first), the 53-year-old actor slapped one of the security guards, while walking out of a film screening event. This unruly behavior, which reeks of arrogance, has sparked a serious debate about his conduct. And rightly so.
What exactly happened
In the video, one can see Salman walking out of the said event amidst an army of fans. The video, which has now gone viral, shows Salman stopping suddenly and promptly turning back to hit one of the security guards in his face. While the reason isn't clear, reports suggest that the actor got angry when the guard allegedly pushed a young fan.

Here's how the social media reacted
There are essentially two sides to every Salman Khan story. One advocated by his fans, the other by the common, sensible man of this country. Some users criticized the actor, saying "this is not the way to deal" and that the "guard was doing his job." But, the ardent fans believed their Dabangg bhai is a "true human" for doing so (Seriously?).
At the risk of getting slapped, I offer some advice
Firstly, the real reason behind the actor's behavior isn't clear. But even if the security guard did actually commit a mistake, Bhai being a 50-year-old man (hence, maturity), a public-figure (hence, responsibility), and much loved (hence, humility) could have chosen better, and set an example.
Salman-starrer 'Bharat' released yesterday on Eid
Notably, Bharat released yesterday in cinemas. Written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, it also features Katrina Kaif, Sunil Grover, Tabu and Jackie Shroff. Based on the South Korean film, Ode To My Father (2014), Bharat traces the life of a man in the backdrop of Indian independence and post-Independence history. In a sane universe, the film failed to make a mark. In bhai's universe, things stand different.
