#BeingHuman Salman Khan saves 'Veergati' co-star Pooja Dadwal from tuberculosis
'Veergati' actress Pooja Dadwal was admitted with severe tuberculosis five months ago. She was admitted to Sewri TB hospital in Mumbai in dire conditions and would have succumbed, if not for co-star Salman Khan. Bhaijan and his Being Human foundation helped Pooja so that she could afford treatment, multivitamins, other supplements to gain strength. The actress expressed her gratitude to Salman.
The deadly disease and a battle for survival
By the time Pooja was admitted, tuberculosis had turned deadly for the 44-year-old. Her lungs had been badly affected, she could barely walk or breathe and weighed a mere 23 kilograms. Dr. Lalit Anande, who treated her, said she beat the disease by sheer willpower and help from Salman Khan's foundation. Notably, Pooja has now been discharged from the hospital and is in Goa.
The survivor speaks out about Salman's generosity
The 'Veergati' actress was quick to express her gratitude to Salman for his generous act. She said that when she was admitted on March 2, her friends and family had given up on her and she thought she'd die all alone. If not for bhaijan's support in terms of medicine and everyday things like soaps, diapers she probably wouldn't have survived.
Good guy Salman and his charitable acts
Salman is often in the news for wrong reasons but everybody knows bhaijan also has a generous streak to him. He's helped plenty of others in their times of need, from borrowing cash from his bodyguards to give to poor children, to helping a family of six in Kashmir while filming 'Bajrangi Bhaijan'. Keep up the good work, Salman, this is truly being human!
