Sole breadwinner: Salman house firing case accused files for bail
Vicky Gupta, an accused in the ongoing Salman Khan house firing case, has submitted a bail plea to the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court. Gupta asserts that the shooting was planned by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang with an aim to intimidate, not injure, the Bollywood superstar. The scheme was carried out by Gupta and another suspect named Sagar Pal.
Gupta admits involvement, reveals details of the incident
Gupta confessed his participation in the incident, stating that he was approached by Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi. Anmol informed him about the plan and assured him "nothing will happen to him (to Gupta)." His role was confined to driving the motorcycle and transporting Pal to Bandra. "It was Pal who fired the rounds at Khan's house," Gupta disclosed.
Court awaits Mumbai Police response to Gupta's bail plea
In his bail plea, Gupta revealed that he is the sole breadwinner in his family, making it crucial for him to be released from jail. The court has now requested a response from the Mumbai Police crime branch regarding Gupta's bail plea. The next hearing in this case is scheduled for August 13.
Background of the Salman Khan house firing case
Earlier this year in April, gunshots were fired outside Khan's Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai's Bandra area. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang is suspected to be behind the attack, as Anmol claimed responsibility for the shooting incident via a Facebook post. Khan has also spoken about alleged threats he and his family have been receiving from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang over the years.
Motive behind the shooting incident revealed
Gupta stated that he was motivated by the "principles" followed by jailed gangster Bishnoi and his financial "debt" led him to participate in the alleged crime. He claimed that the objective of the shooting was to frighten Khan for his alleged act of killing two blackbucks 26 years ago, an animal revered by the Bishnoi community.
