Kamal Haasan-Salman Khan might clash in Atlee's two-hero action film
After months of speculation, it has now been confirmed that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and South Indian director Atlee are collaborating on a high-budget action film. This project is particularly exciting as it is a two-hero venture with Kamal Haasan potentially playing the second lead. A source close to the development revealed to PeepingMoon that discussions between Khan and Atlee started last year and gained momentum recently.
Atlee's pitch intrigued Khan: Report
Per the insider, Atlee pitched a two-hero film idea to Khan about three months ago. The actor was captivated by the concept and asked the Jawan director to develop a full script. A few weeks ago, Atlee narrated the script to Khan who found it so compelling that he immediately gave his approval. The source added, "Salman and Atlee are formally collaborating, and this is going to be complete madness."
Haasan's approval awaited for pre-production
Atlee is currently awaiting Haasan's approval to kick-start pre-production for this pan-India project. Reportedly, Khan is personally speaking with Haasan to persuade him to join the film. There might soon be a joint narration with them. Although plot and character details are being kept under wraps, sources describe this as Atlee's most ambitious and challenging project to date. The film will be a quintessential Atlee-style mass entertainer with a blend of action, romance, and familial emotions.
Shooting expected to begin in January 2025
Atlee plans to start pre-production in October and begin shooting around January 2025. A special announcement promo is also planned before the commencement of principal photography next year. In the meantime, Khan will complete AR Murugadoss's Sikandar, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Prateik Babbar. On the other hand, Haasan will wrap up filming on Thug Life and Indian 3 before joining forces for Atlee's film.
