Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty summoned for "bhangi" comment
In a strange turn of events, a comment made in a harmless manner has landed Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty in serious trouble. They have reportedly been summoned by the deputy SP of Rajasthan's Churu district, Hukum Singh, for allegedly using 'Bhangi' word and hurting the sentiments of Valmiki community. Here are the details.
Here's what had happened
During one of the promotion events of 'Tiger Zinda Hai', Salman used the word 'bhangi' referring to his own dancing style. In a separate occasion, Shilpa Shetty, during her interactive session with the media, used the same word to describe the way she is dressed at home. This didn't go well with a certain set of people.
The after-effects of their comments
Salman and Shilpa's comments have offended the Valmiki community; they had registered a complaint against both of them. According to reports, many community members reached the district office and raised slogans against Salman and his movie 'Tiger Zinda Hai', which got released on December 22. Though it is difficult to take sides, but if you are a superstar you need to watch your words.
