The pair, known for their successful Hindi projects such as Zanjeer, Deewaar, Sholay, Trishul, Don, and Kaala Patthar have left an indelible mark on the Bollywood film industry. Their work has significantly shaped the cult of Bollywood lovers over the years.
Documentary to focus on Salim-Javed's peak years, contribution to cinema
The streamer recently shared a poster featuring some of the most iconic dialogues written by the duo, which has sparked speculations about the documentary's release. It will span across various decades with a major focus on the 1970s and '80s, which marked the peak of success for Salim-Javed. Akhtar's children Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar; and Khan's son Salman Khan plan to bring their parents' legacy to life through this documentary.
Salim-Javed's contribution to Amitabh Bachchan's 'angry young man' persona
The duo is particularly renowned for creating the "angry young man" character that catapulted Amitabh Bachchan to massive fame. The documentary, reportedly titled Angry Young Men, is a collaboration between Salman Khan Films, Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby. The film is directed by Namrata Rao and a previous Mid-Day report stated that it may be released in October. However, it is yet to be officially announced.
