'Are you going to die?': Taimur's reaction to Saif's stabbing
What's the story
In a recent interview with Delhi Times, actor Saif Ali Khan (54) revealed details of the violent attack he suffered last month.
The incident took place on January 16 when an intruder barged into his Mumbai residence, inflicting six knife wounds on him. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent two surgeries.
Now, in his first interview since the incident, Khan revealed his son Taimur's immediate reaction to the traumatic event.
Family's response
Kareena Kapoor asked Khan to go to the hospital
Khan recalled that after the attack, his kurta was soaked in blood and he felt pain in his back.
In this situation, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan suggested he seek immediate medical attention while she planned to go to her sister's house with their younger son Jeh.
During this discussion, their elder son Taimur asked him worriedly if he was "going to die."
The actor reassured him by saying, "No."
Hospital journey
'I was getting a lot of comfort...'
Though initial reports claimed Khan's elder son Ibrahim went with him to the hospital, doctors later confirmed Taimur was with him.
Explaining why Taimur came with him, Khan said, "He was absolutely composed. He said, 'I'm coming with you.' And I thought if something happens... I was getting a lot of comfort just from looking at him at that time."
"And I didn't want to go alone. My wife sent him knowing what he would do for me."
Professional resilience
Khan's recovery and return to work post-attack
After five days in the hospital, Khan was discharged on January 21.
He made his first public appearance earlier this month at a Netflix India event where he promoted his upcoming film Jewel Thief despite a bandaged neck and hand in a cast.
His co-star Jaideep Ahlawat lauded Khan's resilience and dedication to work during his recovery.
