Saif Ali Khan on #MeToo: Was harassed 25 years ago
India's #MeToo movement has got the tinselvile talking these days with celebrities sharing their opinions and experiences. And the recent one to open up is Saif Ali Khan who revealed he was harassed 25 years ago. Talking about the #MeToo movement, Saif said he understood the pain of every victim as he himself has gone through it and it still annoys him.
People don't understand other people's pain
Talking about his ordeal, Saif said that though it was not sexually, he was harassed in his career 25 years ago. He also mentioned that others don't understand the pain of a victim. "Even when I think about what happened with me I still get angry. Today, we have to look after women," he added.
Offenders must pay for their deeds
Extending his support to the #MeToo movement, Saif said that the offenders of sexual harassment should be punished severely. However, Saif also mentioned that it is important to strike a balance while punishing the offender. "You are removing someone (from the job) and it is a big deal. But everybody has worked on a project so you have to balance things," he added.
Saif on Sajid being accused of sexual assault
Saif also spoke about Sajid Khan's sexual harassment case and said that he doesn't remember anything of this sort on 'Humshakals' sets. He also added that if anything came to his knowledge, he wouldn't have allowed it. "I would hate an atmosphere where women are being looked down upon or mistreated in any way," Saif asserted
