Netflix, OnePlus launch posters of 'Sacred Games' Season 2
Days after dropping the first teaser of their hit thriller series, Sacred Games, Netflix, in partnership with OnePlus, has revealed the character posters of the show's protagonist, Inspector Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan), and antagonist Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The series, based on Vikram Chandra's eponymous 2006 novel, will return for its second season later this year. Here are all the details.
Gaitonde is all suited-up in his character poster
In his poster, Gaitonde is seen standing in front of a mandala, wearing a suit complete with a tie, a tie-pin, and glasses sitting in his pocket; a departure from how we've seen him before. Netflix captioned it with a dialogue from the show: "Pichli baar kya bola tha Ganesh bhai ko? Aukaat! (What did you say to Ganesh bhai the last time? Stature!)"

Sartaj Singh, the cop devoted to proving his worth by saving Mumbai from whatever doom Gaitonde has planned, looks more or less the same as he did the last season. However, if you give it a closer look, Singh has a bandage on his left hand. If you remember, in the last season, Malcolm Mourad (played by Luke Kenny), had chopped off Singh's thumb.

OnePlus also unveiled a BTS video from Season 2
Both the posters were shot on OnePlus 7 Pro, the smartphone manufacturer that has partnered with Netflix. OnePlus also unveiled a behind-the-scenes video (also shot on OnePlus 7 Pro) from the filming for the cast reveal teaser, which was released on May 5.
Anurag Kashyap, Neeraj Ghaywan to direct Season 2
While the first season was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, for season 2, Neeraj Ghaywan, who directed Masaan, will be replacing Motwane as co-director. Besides Khan and Siddiqui, season 2 cast will also include Pankaj Tripathi (Khanna Guruji). Sacred Games will also introduce new characters this upcoming season: Batya Abelman, played by Kalki Koechlin, and Shahid Khan, played by Ranvir Shorey.
When will 'Sacred Games' Season 2 release?
Sacred Games revolved around Inspector Sartaj Singh who receives a call from the long-missing criminal overlord Gaitonde, who informs him about Mumbai's imminent destruction in 25 days, and tells him to save the city. Although no official release date has been announced yet, reports suggest, Netflix will be streaming season 2 by July's end or the first week of August this year.
