Akshay-Twinkle served with legal notice for auctioning 'Rustom' navy uniform
In the latest development in the on-going controversy over the auction of a navy costume from 'Rustom', Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have been served with a legal notice. Lt Col Sandeep Ahlawat, along with his batchmates, has filed a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) in the Bombay High Court against the star couple. Here are the details.
Raising objections over the auction, Ahlawat had earlier warned Twinkle
Soon after Akshay and Twinkle announced that they are putting up the costume for auction, they received backlash from several quarters. However, Ahlawat went overboard with his protest and warned Twinkle in no unclear terms. "You touch our honor and we will give you a bloody nose," he wrote in an elongated post on Facebook.
Akshay then came out in his wife's support
Defending Twinkle, Akshay said, "I support my wife on that matter. We are doing some work with good intention for a good cause. That was a costume that I used in the film. I do not think we have done anything wrong." "If anyone finds it wrong then it is okay. I cannot do anything on that," he added.
Akshay-Twinkle's noble cause behind the auction?
By auctioning the costume, Akshay and Twinkle were extending their support to the cause of animal rescue and welfare. They had vowed to donate the proceeds to an NGO called Janice's Trust.
