Rosamund Pike to make National Theatre debut in 'Inter Alia'
Rosamund Pike, renowned for her roles in Gone Girl and Saltburn, is set to make her first appearance at London's National Theatre in 2025. She will star in the world premiere of Inter Alia, a new play by Suzie Miller—the playwright behind the award-winning legal drama Prima Facie. In this production, Pike will portray a British High Court judge grappling with conflicts in both her personal and professional life.
'Inter Alia' marks the final season for National Theatre's Norris
Inter Alia will be part of the final season for Rufus Norris, the current director and co-chief executive of the National Theatre. After a decade-long tenure, Norris will step down on March 31, 2025. His successor is Indhu Rubasingham, who will assume her new role as director and co-chief executive starting April 1. The announcement was made during a press conference at the National Theatre Green Store in Bermondsey, South London.
Pike's return to the stage after 15 years
To note, Pike's last stage performance was in Hedda Gabler at the Theatre Royal, Bath in 2010. Her most recent appearance on a London stage was opposite Judi Dench in Madame de Sade for the Donmar theater's 2009 season in the West End. Now, after a hiatus of over a decade, she is making a much-anticipated return to theater with Inter Alia.
National Theatre's 2025 season: A glimpse into other productions
The National Theatre's 2025 season will also feature Juliet Stevenson in David Lan's new play Land of the Living, directed by Stephen Daldry. Another highlight is the European run of Stephen Sondheim's final musical Here We Are, set to be staged at the Lyttelton from April 23-June 28. The season will introduce Arinze Kene and Cherrelle Skeete in a revamped version of Michael Abbensetts's 1978 play Alterations.
