Rohit Shetty's Simmba came with several surprise elements for the audience: Ranveer Singh's spectacular performance, Ajay Devgn's cameo and many more.
Rohit also introduced his next directorial Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar in the lead.
And after the grand success of Simmba, Rohit is soon set to begin work on Sooryanvashi. The movie will reportedly hit floors in April.

Rohit collaborates with Akshay for the first time
Rohit, who has worked with several stars like Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, and Varun Dhawan, will be collaborating with Akshay for the first time in Sooryavanshi.
Akshay will play the role of a rebellious ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) officer in the movie.
Although he gave a glimpse of this tough image in Simmba, it is certainly not enough for his die-hard fans.

Evidently, Akshay is Bollywood's favorite cop
Ajay Devgn's Singham series might have given a new face to Bollywood's cop flicks, but Akshay has been industry's favorite cop for long.
He nailed the uniform look several times in his career spanning over two decades. Akshay played the honest policewala in movies like Khakee, Rowdy Rathore, and Mohra.
Besides, his image of action star also makes him a perfect on-screen cop.

Interestingly, Rohit-Akshay's collaboration has been in talks for a while now. The renowned director said he is looking forward to work with PadMan actor. "I would love to work with him and definitely, we'll come together. Everybody says our combination will be good," he added.
Cameos
Ranveer, Ajay to also have cameos in 'Sooryavanshi'
Just like Simmba, Rohit's Sooryavanshi will also have special cameos but this time by Ranveer and Ajay.
"In Simmba, Ajay made a special appearance in his Singham avatar, while Ranveer too played a cop. Now in Sooryavanshi, Ranveer-Ajay will be making an appearance and it will not be surprising if they reprise their respective roles from Simmba and Singham," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Akshay to have a busy 2019
Currently, Akshay is busy shooting for two of his upcoming movies: Mission Mangal and Good News.
The superstar will reportedly begin shooting for Rohit's supercop action-drama in April. According to the media reports, it will be a complete start-to-finish schedule for Sooryavanshi.
Meanwhile, Akshay is gearing up for the release of Kesari opposite Parineeti Chopra which is based on the 'Battle of Saragarhi'.
