Rohit Shetty-John's action thriller to begin filming in April: Report
What's the story
Acclaimed Bollywood director Rohit Shetty is said to be in talks with actor John Abraham for a new standalone action thriller.
The film is not a part of Shetty's famous cop universe and is still being scripted.
Per a report by Mid-Day, the project is aiming to roll by April 2025.
Production plans
Shetty wants to go beyond his safe genres
A source told Mid-Day, "Rohit has had the idea of this film for a long time. After Singham Again [2024] released, he began developing this project while the Golmaal 5 script gets locked."
"He wants to go beyond the cop stories and the comedy franchise. A few preliminary meetings with John have taken place."
Earlier, a Bollywood Hungama report said that the film will be a biopic on former Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Rakesh Maria.
Filming schedule
Shetty and Abraham's film to be shot in Mumbai
The source further revealed that the film is scheduled to be shot in Mumbai over a straight 45-day schedule.
"The actor and director have discussed possible dates. They both are keen to shoot it over the summer after which Rohit will move to Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 shoot," said the source.
This fits perfectly with Abraham's plans as he will start filming his motorcycle racing movie on the Isle of Man in August.
