Rohit Shetty confirms 'Golmaal 5' with Ajay Devgn
Acclaimed director Rohit Shetty, who is basking in the success of his recent release Singham Again, has announced that his next venture will be Golmaal 5. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Shetty confirmed that the fifth installment of the popular comedy series is officially underway and will come before any upcoming action projects. "I think before any cop film for sure, Golmaal will be the next," he said.
'Golmaal 5' to be a refreshing change for Shetty
Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn spoke about switching between action and comedy genres. Devgn said he easily switches between characters, staying in character only while shooting. Shetty sees this genre switch as a welcome change, calling working on a comedy like Golmaal after an intense project like Singham a "detox." "I look forward to making Golmaal after a big project like Singham. It's lighter and happier, and I'm not as worried."
'Golmaal' series: A Bollywood comedy favorite
The Golmaal series, starring an iconic cast including Devgn, Arshad Warsi, and Tusshar Kapoor, has been a Bollywood comedy favorite since its first release with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited in 2006. Every installment of the franchise—Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010), and Golmaal Again (2017)—has entertained audiences with its unique combination of slapstick and witty humor. Cast and plot details about Golmaal 5 can be expected in the coming months.
