On February 29, the creators of Mismatched provided a sneak peek into the upcoming season. The teaser, set against an urban backdrop, hinted at new challenges for the characters as they navigate adulthood. It was captioned, "Brewing some cold coffee, love, and drama as Dimple and Rishi return for season 3! Mismatched S03 is coming soon, only on Netflix!" It is helmed by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari.
'Mismatched': A journey of unconventional romance
Produced by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari, the first season followed Rishi and Dimple's unexpected meeting during a summer internship, while the second season explored their relationship hurdles including long-distance complications and societal pressures. Despite these challenges, they reunite at the end of Season 2. Based on Sandhya Menon's 2017 novel When Dimple Met Rishi, it is backed by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies.
Season 3 is expected to premiere in 2024
While no official release date has been announced for Mismatched Season 3, it is expected to premiere by mid to late 2024. Koli and Saraf aside, the series also features Rannvijay Singha and Vidya Malvade in prominent roles. To note, while the novel is set in the US, the Netflix series was adapted to take place in Jaipur. Meanwhile, in related news, Koli recently appeared in Neeyat, while Saraf will be seen in Ishq Vishk Rebound in June.
