Pankaj Tripathi's brother-in-law dies, sister critical after fatal road accident
In a tragic turn of events, actor Pankaj Tripathi's brother-in-law, Rajesh Tiwari, also known as Munna Tiwari, has died in a road accident near GT Road in Nirsa. The incident occurred around 4:00pm on Saturday. In the same accident, Tripathi's sister Sarita Tiwari sustained severe injuries and is currently under treatment at the SNCU of Dhanbad Medical College Hospital, per Hindustan Times. As of now, the family hasn't issued any statement.
Details of the fatal road accident
Per reports, the couple was traveling from Kamalpur in Gopalganj, Bihar to Chittaranjan, West Bengal when their vehicle (WB44D-2899) collided with a divider just before reaching Nirsa Market Chowk. The collision was so severe that it left the car heavily damaged, especially the front part. Following the accident, both Rajesh and Sarita were rescued from the wreckage by police and local residents and immediately taken to Dhanbad Medical College Hospital.
Tripathi's brother-in-law was an employee of the Indian Railways
Despite immediate medical attention, Rajesh succumbed to his injuries. Sarita has been admitted to the surgical ICU and her condition remains critical. Rajesh was an employee of the Indian Railways stationed in Chittaranjan. Per family sources, he was returning home from his village when the unfortunate incident occurred. This tragic event follows another recent loss for Tripathi; his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, passed away at 99 years old in August 2023.
When Tripathi dedicated his National Award win to late father
"When I won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for my role in Mimi, it was a bittersweet moment," the actor previously stated, dedicating the award to his late father. "If Babuji was around, he would have been really happy for me. When I first got the National Award mention, he was very proud and pleased. This National Award I dedicate to him and his spirit. I'm who I am today because of him."
