
Riteish Deshmukh's politician look in 'Raid 2' revealed
What's the story
Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh officially joined the star-studded cast of the much-awaited sequel, Raid 2. Known for his versatile roles, Deshmukh will be playing a politician in the film.
His first look poster was unveiled by his co-star Ajay Devgn on Tuesday.
The poster sees Deshmukh standing amid a crowd with a stern expression dressed in a kurta and jacket, hand raised high.

'Kanoon ka mohtaj nahi, kanoon ka malik hai Dada Bhai!'
Taking to Instagram, Devgn shared the poster with the caption, "Kanoon ka mohtaj nahi, kanoon ka malik hai Dada Bhai! (Dada Bhai is not dependent on the law, he is the master of the law!)."
Deshmukh too shared the poster on his Instagram. Fans of both the actors were thrilled for the upcoming movie.
One wrote, "Awesome look sir .. it's going crazy," while another said, "Can't wait to see THIS face-off Ajay vs Ritiesh."
Release details
'Raid 2' release date was announced with new poster
In a surprise move, the release date for Raid 2 was announced as May 1.
Alongside that, a new poster featuring Devgn's character, IRS officer Amay Patnaik was also released.
The background of the poster features stacks of papers arranged in Indian flag colors, representing financial corruption and tax raids—central themes of the franchise.
Devgn's caption read, "Naya Shehar. Nayi File. Aur Amay Patnaik Ki Ek Nayi Raid (New city. New file. And a new raid by Amay Patnaik)."
Sequel details
'Raid 2' plot remains under wraps
While the plot of Raid 2 remains under wraps, it is expected to revolve around IRS officer Patnaik as he digs into another white-collar crime.
The film was shot in Delhi and Lucknow. Helmed by Rajkumar Gupta, the film also stars Vaani Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla.
The first part of the film, which was released in 2018, was inspired by a real-life income-tax raid conducted by the IRS in the 1980s.
