Rishi Kapoor talks about battling cancer, notifies about his return
Ever since Rishi Kapoor flew to New York last September for his cancer treatment, there have been a lot of speculations about his return. It was reported that the veteran actor would be returning to India in early September for his birthday. However, the 66-year-old rubbished the speculations and said that he won't be returning until his last treatment cycle is completed.
Hoping that I can plan an August-end return, says Rishi
"I will plan my return five-six weeks after my last treatment. It is called consolidation or pushback, whereby I will have to undergo chemotherapy to ensure that the ailment does not return. I am hoping that I can plan an end-August return," he said.
Cancer is in remission, but I'm still under treatment: Rishi
It's been over nine months that Rishi has been fighting the Big C, and he is recovering pretty well. However, he did lose a lot of weight during the process. Talking about the same, Rishi said, "Cancer is in remission, but I'm still under treatment. I had lost 26 kgs as I had no appetite for first four months. Now, I've gained seven-eight kgs."
Did Rishi's hair color turn white because of cancer?
The Chandni actor also talked about how his white hair got people worried. "When word got around that I had gone to NY, rumor spread that I was so unwell that my hair turned white overnight," he reflected. However truth is, "The problem was detected when I was shooting and was required to dye my hair white. I came here with my hair dyed."

Rishi also mentioned how his family, especially his wife Neetu, stood "like a solid rock." "She has been around me, supporting me through all this," he said, while adding that "right now my daughter (Riddhima) and grand-daughter are with me." "Ranbir keeps coming every five-six weeks. Here I have to make a special mention of my niece and my elder sister," he added.
By end of September I will start shooting, says Rishi
When asked about when he will return to work, Rishi exclaimed, "I'm raring to get back to work." "The moment I get back, I will take 15 days off to connect with my roots, get over the jet lag, get into IST hopefully and by end of September I'll start shooting," the senior actor said, while confirming that he's in talks for a project.
