No April wedding for Richa and Ali, thanks to coronavirus
Bollywood's long-time lovebirds Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal were to take the big leap this April, but as fate would have it they have decided to postpone their wedding. The couple pushed their wedding plan for some time, keeping in mind the safety and well-being of their guests due to rising concerns over the fast-spreading coronavirus, that took over 8,000 lives globally.
The couple will now marry in second half of 2020
A spokesperson for the actors confirmed the news, stating, "Given the current scenario and the unfortunate turn of events...Ali and Richa have decided to postpone their wedding functions." The wedding will now tentatively take place in the second half of 2020. Richa and Ali wish for the good health of their friends and family, and wouldn't risk their safety at any cost, the spokesperson added.
Richa, Ali were planning to tie the knot around mid-April
Recently, fans were sweetly surprised when it was reported that Richa and Ali were planning to get married around mid-April this year. In fact, the duo even applied for marriage registration at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai earlier in February. The lovebirds, who first met on sets of their 2013 comedy movie Fukrey, had been dating for more than two years.
It happened organically, Richa on relationship with Ali
"Ali is a sweetheart," Richa had once said. Talking about her equation with the fellow actor, Richa had earlier said, "It is rare to find like-minded people who share certain core values and have similar interests...Ali is also progressive and liberal. To find someone like that in your industry is rare. Also, we never expected to end up together. It happened organically."
Another high-profile Bollywood wedding in the limbo?
However, Richa and Ali are not the only couple affected by the deadly virus. Several reports have stated that sweethearts Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal, who were expected to tie the knot in summer this year, may also delay their wedding celebrations.
