Disha played the role of Dayaben in TMKOC and has been missing from the show for over a year. While there's a lot of noise around her decision, recent reports suggest her husband Mayur Padia is responsible for her exit.
Backstory: Disha went on a maternity break in 2017
To recall, Disha took a maternity break in September 2017. She was expected to return after the birth of her daughter. However, the new mommy extended her maternity break considering the added responsibilities. While the speculations about her return continued to be rife, it was reported that Disha demanded a fee hike to rejoin TMKOC. But the producers rejected her plea.
Disha's husband Mayur is interfering in her professional life
According to a report published in Spotboye, Disha's husband Mayur is responsible for creating differences between the actress and the production house. Reportedly, Mayur has been interacting with the production house on Disha's behalf. He claimed producer Asit Modi is yet to pay some amount to her. While Asit denied Mayur's claim of any unsettled payment, the latter remained adamant.
Mayur's conditions are unacceptable to producers
The report further suggested that Mayur wants Disha to work for 15 days in a month and that too only for fours hours per day. These conditions didn't go down well with producers for obvious reasons. "Disha's maternity leave is over and she should come back fully if she wants to," the report stated. But looks like Mayur isn't in a mood to relent.
Producers are miffed with Mayur's interference
Reportedly, TMKOC producers are quite upset with Mayur's unreasonable interference. In fact, according to the recent buzz, they have second thoughts about Disha's return as her absence hasn't affected the show's TRPs. "Our show is going well, TRPs without Dayaben have not been affected. If Disha wants to return, we'll have to see if her comeback will justify the show," a source stated.
Will Disha's contract end soon?
There have been reports that Disha will soon be replaced on TMKOC. But Asit revealed that no changes have been made in her contract. This means that Disha is still a part of the show. However, given Mayur's constant interference and unacceptable demands, it is speculated that Disha's contract will be terminated soon. Notably, an official confirmation about Disha's exit is still awaited.
