    Remo D'Souza confirms 'ABCD 3,' says script is 'almost ready'

    As the first part of his popular dance film franchise ABCD: Any Body Can Dance completes eight years today, filmmaker and choreographer Remo D'Souza has confirmed that a third installment of the series is on the cards.

    He, in fact, revealed that the script of the upcoming movie is "almost ready."

    In an interview with The Times of India, D'Souza said, "I am planning the third part of the series. We are working on the script; it is almost ready. We will announce it soon."

    He further informed that the lead actor will be a dancer.

    "ABCD is with Disney, so I am trying to get the title back," he told the publication.

    'ABCD,' out in 2013, was a hit

    ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, was released in 2013.

    The movie brought to the screen a brilliant set of dancers and choreographers including Prabhu Deva, Ganesh Acharya, Dharmesh Yelande, Salman Yusuff Khan, and Lauren Gottileb, among others.

    Its sequel titled ABCD 2, starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, was out in 2015.

    D'Souza's last release was 'Street Dancer 3D'

    Meanwhile, D'Souza's last directorial venture was Dhawan and Kapoor- starrer Street Dancer 3D.

    The film came out in January 2020 and opened to mixed reviews, however, its music album was widely appreciated.

    Apart from the aforementioned, he has also helmed movies such as F.A.L.T.U, A Flying Jatt, and Salman Khan-starrer Race 3, among others.

    D'Souza getting back to work after suffering cardiac arrest

    For the unversed, D'Souza had suffered a heart attack on December 11, 2020, and subsequently spent a few days in the hospital.

    Talking about his health, he thanked everyone who prayed for him during that time and added that he feels great now.

    "I am so happy to be back to what I do, and be my normal self (sic)," he says.
