Big Bollywood films expected from the rest of 2019
On September 20, box office will see three films clashing: Prassthanam, The Zoya Factor and Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. While Prassthanam, a political-action film stars Sanjay Dutt and Manisha Koirala, The Zoya Factor has Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas marks debut of Sunny Deol's son. Hrithik-Tiger Shroff starrer 'War' is eyeing an October 2 release
The thriller that is bringing two best action stars of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, together on screen for the first time, War is set for a Gandhi Jayanti release. On this lucrative date, the Aditya Chopra product will not see any 'War,' hence it's expected to strike gold at the cash registers. Given the buzz its trailer has created, War is highly-anticipated.
October 11: Clash between 'The Sky Is Pink,' 'Laal Kaptaan'
Based on Aisha Chaudhary, who was diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis, to which she succumbed later, The Sky Is Pink is eyeing an October 11 release. Notably, the film, which marks Priyanka Chopra's return to Bollywood after three years, received a standing ovation at TIFF. Laal Kaptaan, its competition, meanwhile, has Saif Ali Khan as a Naga Sadhu on the hunt to seek revenge.
October 25: 'Made in China'/'Housefull 4'/'Saand Ki Aankh'
This Diwali, be prepared for a triple dhamaka, as the highest budgeted Indian comedy film, Housefull 4, will battle it out with Saand Ki Aankh and Made in China. While Saand Ki Aankh, backed by Anurag Kashyap is a biographical film based on sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, Made in China is a comedy, starring Rajkummar Rao, Mouni Roy, and Boman Irani.
'Marjaavaan': Riteish Deshmukh against Sidharth Malhotra on November 8
Marjaavaan reunites Riteish Deshmukh, and Sidharth Malhotra after Ek Villain, and here too they are pitted against each other. This action-drama would see Riteish as a "three-foot tall" villain who is "larger-than-life" with a "wicked sense of humor," named Vishnu. The Milap Zaveri directorial will be SOTY 2 star Tara Sutaria's second outing, and also brings together Rakul Preet and Sidharth after Aiyaary.
November 29 clash for Saif starrers: 'Dil Bechara'/'Jawaani Jaaneman'
November 29 will be interesting! On this date, two of Saif-starrers will battle it out for the moolah: Dil Bechara and Jawaani Jaaneman. While Dil Bechara is based on author John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars and has Sushant Singh Rajput as one of the leads, Jawaani Jaaneman will see Saif playing a 40-year-old father to Alaia Furniturewala, Pooja Bedi's daughter.
December 6: 'Pati, Patni Aur Woh' faces challenge from 'Panipat'
December 6 will see Bollywood's current favorite, Kartik Aaryan caught between his wife and his secretary-girlfriend in Pati, Patni Aur Woh, a remake of a 1978 classic. This romantic comedy will however face a tough fight from Panipat, directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. Having Kriti Sanon, Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in lead, the historical period drama is based on the Third Battle of Panipat.
Rani returns on December 13 as cop in 'Mardaani 2'
The rest of the December has been locked by three real big releases: The first being Mardaani 2, which will have Rani Mukerji reprising the role of righteous cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy. This sequel will see her going up against a "cold, merciless" 21-year-old. To be directed by Gopi Puthran, this Yash Raj Films backed crime thriller apparently has an "extraordinary" script, Rani said.
2019's most-awaited film, 'Dabangg 3,' releases on December 20
Easily the most awaited movie of 2019, Dabangg 3 brings back our very favorite Chulbul "Robin Hood" Pandey, in a different way. This film will showcase his past life, even before he became this lovable cop. To be directed by Salman Khan's Wanted director Prabhu Deva, this third installment of Dabangg series will be released in Hindi and Kannada, Tamil & Telugu dubbed versions.
Get a 'Good News' on December 27 from Akshay, Kareena
The last Friday of 2019 has been booked by Good News, which is backed by noted houses, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. Revolving around the tricky topic of surrogacy, the film will feature Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani. In it, Akshay and Kareena play a couple, probably trying for a baby, failing which they opt for surrogacy.
