Nawazuddin Siddiqui gets a clean chit in CDR case
In a respite for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the Mumbai Police has now cleared his name in the Call Data Record (CDR) case. The actor was issued a summon for allegedly spying on his wife, Aaliya Siddiqui. However, his lawyer, Rizwan Siddiqui has been taken into the Police custody for obtaining Aaliya's call records.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh shared the development
"Nawazuddin Siddiqui has no direct role in the Call Data Record (CDR) case. He was summoned as a witness and has assured cooperation," he told a news agency.
The CDR racket was busted in January
It was on 24 January this year that the Police nabbed several private detectives who were involved in the illegal procurement and sale of CDRs of individuals including Nawaz's wife. The arrested accused informed the Police that Rizwan had extracted Aaliya's call details from them. The cops then issued a summon to the actor, his wife and the lawyer.
