    What's the story

It's just three weeks left for Gully Boy release and it's already winning hearts with its music.

To keep the excitement intact, the makers have unveiled the second track of the movie titled Mere Gully Mein, which is currently topping the charts.

However, amid the praises, comes a hitch with rapper Sajeel Kapoor claiming that he hasn't been paid for the track.

    Shameful much?

    Song

What is the song all about

The latest track of Gully Boy features Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi who are high on josh as they capture the essence of the movie in the song.

Interestingly, the song is the recreated version of hip-hop rappers Divine, Naezy and Sajeel Kapoor aka Sez's popular track Mere Gully Mein.

While the original lyrics were kept intact, Ranveer lent his voice for the song.

But, Sajeel is unaware of new version of his song

As Mere Gully Mein continues to win hearts, Sajeel Kapoor aka Sez took to Twitter to share his disappointment about the song.

He wrote that he wasn't aware that the recreated version of their popular song will be used in Gully Boy.

Sajeel also mentioned that he has "nothing to do with the new version of Mere Gully Mein."

    Unfair

Sajeel not paid 'despite having a contract, publishing split'

Sajeel emphasized that despite his contract with Gully Boy makers, he hasn't been paid for the song.

He further said that this incident highlights the sad reality of how unfair the industry is.

"I have not been paid for this track despite having a contract and my publishing split being agreed and assigned," Sajeel wrote.

    Success

Despite all complaints, Sajeel roots for 'Gully Boy' success

However, Sajeel said he is looking forward to the success of Gully Boy as it will bring the due attention to the hip-hop music in India.

"We all are rooting for the movie to succeed and introduce the Bollywood audience to what we put our heart and soul in, and for the new opportunities that a big stage brings all of us," Sajeel concluded.

    Story

Film inspired by original Gully Boys Divine, Naezy

Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy is inspired from the lives of renowned street rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy.

Interestingly, Divine and Naezy are quite impressed with Ranveer's oh-so-real performance in the movie.

Apart from Ranveer, Gully Boy also features Alia Bhatt, Vijay Raaz and Kalki Koechlin in key roles.

The movie is slated to release on February 14.
