Ranveer to start preparing for 'Don 3' in March: Report
The highly-anticipated third installment of the Don franchise, starring Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani, is set to begin filming in May or June next year. According to a News18 report, the film's pre-production work is currently underway, and preparations for the same will commence in March 2025. The delay is due to director Farhan Akhtar's ongoing project, 120 Bahadur, which he intends to complete before starting Don 3.
Singh, Advani's busy schedules contribute to 'Don 3' delay
Apart from Akhtar's commitment to 120 Bahadur, the lead actors' busy schedules have also contributed to the delay in Don 3. Singh is currently working on Aditya Dhar's untitled next and recently became a father. On the other hand, Advani is occupied with War 2, where she stars alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. The duo will start their preparations for Don 3 in March next year.
March 2025: A significant month for 'DeepVeer'
March 2025 is set to be a significant month for Singh and his wife, Deepika Padukone. While Singh will begin his preparations for Don 3, Padukone will conclude her maternity leave and start working on Kalki 2. Notably, Kalki 2898 AD was the last film she worked on before giving birth to their daughter on September 8. She had also filmed parts of it while pregnant.
Singh's casting in 'Don 3' sparked mixed reactions
In 2023, Akhtar chose Singh to replace Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3. This decision elicited mixed reactions from fans. While some welcomed the change, others were disappointed that Khan would not be reprising his role. The film was initially scheduled to start shooting in August 2024, but this was later postponed to January 2025 due to scheduling conflicts. Last year, Akhtar had to withdraw from Aamir Khan's sports drama Champions because of his commitment to Don 3.
