Ranveer Singh not to endorse any condom brand: Here's why
When Ranveer Singh became the brand ambassador of a condom brand five years ago to promote safe sex, he took everyone by surprise. After all, he was the first mainstream actor to take up such an initiative. However, recent reports suggest that he has parted ways amicably with the condom brand and is no longer associated with them. Reason? His marital status.
Both agreed to part ways amicably, a source said
According to Forbes, the condom brand and Ranveer have mutually taken the decision of going separate ways. "Both agreed to part ways amicably," a source close to Ranveer confirmed. "The Gully Boy's higher fee and his new 'married' status -- Ranveer married actor Deepika Padukone in November last year -- could have had a bearing on the termination of the contract," the report added.
Earlier, condom brand wrote an interesting tweet on DeepVeer's wedding
Earlier, the condom brand had grabbed headlines after they posted a cheeky tweet to congratulate Ranveer and Deepika on their wedding. "We've got you covered. Congrats Deepika & Ranveer for officially putting a ring on it," the company wrote on Twitter.
'If there's one product that needs endorsement, it's condoms'
Given Ranveer's stardom, he generated a lot of popularity for the brand during his association with them. He had also admitted to carrying condoms in his wallet. "With the kind of problems we face in our country - HIV and STDs and unwanted pregnancies, I feel that if there is one product that needs to be endorsed, it's condoms," Ranveer had said.
