Ranveer Singh's maternal grandmother passed away
Actor Ranveer Singh's maternal grandmother passed away last night, suggest multiple media reports. She was not keeping well for long. Singh cancelled the Switzerland Tourism press conference scheduled for 1:30 PM at Taj Lands after the loss. The 32-year-old actor was close to his grandmother and had once said she was as important as oxygen and water. May her soul rest in peace.
Once, Ranveer revealed how important his grandmother is
"As important to me as oxygen and water. I am very affectionate with everybody - my fans, my family. I was raised that way. My grandmother mollycoddled me. There was lots of hugging and kissing in my house," Ranveer Singh had once said.
In January, Deepika Padukone paid visit to ailing grandmother
Notably, actress Deepika Padukone (who is apparently dating Ranveer) had paid a visit to Ranveer Singh's grandmother in the hospital in January this year. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has wrapped up shooting for Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' and will commence work on Rohit Shetty's 'Simba' soon. He was last seen as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat', for which he won accolades.
