Ranveer Singh's '83' postponed due to coronavirus outbreak
Ranveer Singh's ambitious sports drama 83 has become the latest victim of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. After Dibakar Banerjee's Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi, the Kabir Khan-directorial has been indefinitely postponed, keeping in the mind the health of the viewers. Ranveer revealed the news on social media this morning. It was earlier planned to be released on April 10. Here's more.
'83' is entire nation's film, Ranveer wrote on Instagram
The update was shared by Ranveer where he noted that unfortunately, there is no new release date in sight. "83 is a film about fighting the odds and we hope we all will bounce back from this soon," the message read. "83 is not just our film but the entire nation's film", Ranveer captioned the post, urging fans to stay safe.

'83' chronicles India's maiden Cricket World Cup glory
83 revolves around the story of the underdog Indian cricket team's memorable journey at the 1983 World Cup. India won the World Cup. While Ranveer portrays the then-captain Kapil Dev, his wife Deepika Padukone will be seen as Dev's wife Romi. The ensemble cast also includes Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Amrita Puri, Jiiva, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi, and Sahil Khattar.
All productions remain stalled until March 31 over the outbreak
83 joins a string of Bollywood movies that have been postponed owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic, that has so far claimed more 10,000 lives around the world. Other movies that remain suspended are Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Rohit Shetty's latest cop movie Sooryavanshi, and Rohena Gera's Sir. Furthermore, all movie and TV productions remain stalled across India until at least March 31.
