What's the story

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly withdrawn from Prasanth Varma's forthcoming film Rakshas due to "creative differences." Initially, Singh had joined forces with Varma for this high-budget project. However, recent reports indicate that the actor is no longer involved in the movie. "They have amicably parted ways due to creative differences," a source disclosed to Pinkvilla. Earlier announcements hinted at Singh taking on a very "different and challenging role."

Family focus

Singh prioritizes family amid professional changes

In light of his departure from Rakshas, Singh is reportedly prioritizing family over work as he prepares for parenthood with his wife, Deepika Padukone. "While he is hearing a lot of scripts, his focus is to invest more time in the family. He is secure with his line-up while continuing to read more to have exciting projects under his kitty," the insider added. Meanwhile, Singh and Varma have decided to move forward with a mutual promise of "future collaboration."

Career outlook

Singh's upcoming projects and 'Rakshas' future uncertain

Despite his exit from Rakshas, Singh is confirmed to be part of Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 and Shaktimaan. He will share the screen with Kiara Advani in Don 3, marking their first collaboration. His last appearance was in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, released in 2023. As for the future of Rakshas, a period film set in the pre-independence era with a mythological backdrop, it may now be shelved following Singh's departure.

Upcoming venture

Meanwhile, Singh is preparing for 'Singham Again'

Apart from the films in the pipeline, Singh is set to appear in Rohit Shetty's highly-awaited police drama Singham Again, where the actor will share screen space with Padukone, and fellow actors Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Initially slated to hit theaters on August 15, clashing with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, Singham Again's release date is yet to be confirmed.
