At the Star Screen Awards on Sunday night, Ranveer gave an emotional speech while accepting the award for his role in Padmaavat and left wife Deepika Padukone teary-eyed.
Ranveer is happy he got the 'Queen' in real life
Ranveer's astounding performance as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat won hearts of viewers and critics alike. And it was this dedication which got him the first award of the season. On stage, Ranveer said, "In the film, maybe, I didn't get my queen but in real life, I have got my queen. Baby, I love you." For the uninitiated, Deepika romanced Shahid Kapoor in Padmaavat.

Ranveer also spoke about Deepika's contribution to his career and dedicated his award to her. He said, "In the past six years if I have achieved anything, it is because you have kept me grounded and centered. So thank you for everything and I love you." Soon after he admitted his feelings, Deepika was seen teary eyed.

Khilji also expresses gratitude for Bhansali
In his acceptance speech, Ranveer also thanked director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his immense faith in him. He said Bhansali always shaped him as an actor and he is forever grateful for it. "I would like to thank Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, aapne mujhe ye mauka diya. Mai aaj jis bhi calibre ka actor hoon, main aap hi ki wajah se hoon," Ranveer added.
