'Freak gym accident' caused Chef Ranveer Brar's severe spinal injury
Celebrity chef and actor Ranveer Brar was recently left bedridden for two weeks after suffering a spinal injury during a "freak gym accident." In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, he revealed that the incident took place three weeks ago, and left him with two cracks in his spine. Despite the initial shock, Brar is now on the road to recovery and expects to be fully mobile within six weeks.
Brar's recovery process and family time
Brar, who is famous for his cooking skills and acting role in The Buckingham Murders, said the first phase of recovery was difficult. He said, "The first two weeks I was bedridden. But then the body started responding, so now I move around with a collar." Despite the restrictions, he enjoyed spending time with his son Ishaan during his school holidays.
Brar's dietary changes and exercise regimen
During his recovery, Brar has been careful about his diet to avoid gaining weight. He told HT, "When you're lying down like this, you don't even realize that by the time you get up from the bed, you're five kilos heavier." To keep himself healthy, he is eating light foods like paya soup for non-vegetarian meals and salads for vegetarians. He is also doing some exercises and getting plenty of sunlight.
Brar's struggle with dependency and eagerness to return
Brar admitted that he has found it difficult to depend on others during his recovery. He said, "I'm not used to it and that becomes very difficult. I have always been that guy who's lived away from family most of the time, who sort of takes care of himself and has his own routine." Despite these challenges, he is eager to return to his normal routine, especially cooking.
